Got To Myrtle Beach SC

Mike and Larry had a good day running and got all their miles.  Mike’s muffler started to come apart so they’re strapping it down tonight.  He is still leaking oil which is getting on his rear break causing them to not operate well.  More wrenching tonight.  

Larry’s carburetor is still being a bit finicky but at the end of the day it was fine.  Go figure.  Oh and at the start today, Larry’s bike wouldn’t start.  In that moment he remembered Jerry Wieland telling him to always start the bike after you fix it to ensure all is well.  We will never forget that advice now   Larry did get it started after a bit of fiddling.

The riders were caught in the rain today on and off for a few hours.  Mike got soaked (someone he’s married to reminded him to put the rain gear back in the box, but he thought he’d be okay).  Oops!!  

Nick (Storm Nicholas) flew home today after supporting Team Butts for 5 days   What an awesome help, both as a wrencher and driver, but also for being a great big brother to Bri when she had her accident.  Team Butts is already missing him tremendously!  Thanks Nick!!

Brianna sometimes forgets she has a broken leg.  Today at the starting line, a couple of riders were running late and their route sheets weren’t loaded in the holder.  Linda and Brianna popped up and got it done while the riders put on their helmets and strapped down their bags/gear.  Everybody helps everybody, including the girl with the broken leg and her Mom.  

We finished today’s ride in Myrtle Beach SC   We have beautiful oceanfront rooms   It’s torture to have such a great room and not be able to fully enjoy it due to wrenching   But I’d love to come back and stay here again.
