It’s unbelievable how ingenious these guys are when they’re on the road. Mike’s condenser was falling off. He had some wire and wrapped it around five times to hold it in place. It’s working so well that he’s not fixing it!
The other issue he had was with his oil line Lea king. He was on the side of the road when Joe Sparrow stopped to help. They used some rubber hosing with clamps to fix; then wrapped the hose with tin foil to keep it from melting by the motor. This also worked great and was able to get all his miles. (He did fix this last night.)
Mike also had his gas tank soldered because his bung hole was leaking. I’m told this is actual motorcycle lingo and not just a pun about the name Butts.
We were near the starting line and someone noticed Mike’s horn was hanging down. A bolt had broken off. A quick removal of the horn and wrap the wire with electrical tape and he’s off again Enjoy these photos:
One minute the horns in place, the next it isn’t. As long as the bike is still running, we’re still in the race
