Full Day in Michigan.... because Mary hasn't updated you enough..today

 Hello Friends!!

I know Mary has been doing such a great job on keeping you updated...with some behind the help from me. Only some technical things...like how to add a picture. You're welcome.

Yesterday when we were driving to Michigan, I chose to sit in the back of the sprinter van, behind mom and Mike. I luckily did have a seat - a shop chair, on wheels. For the first hour it was perfect, we had something on the ground to keep it from rolling - but we had to drop that off at Jerry's. Once that happened, I learned REAL quick not to "lip off" to Mike. All he had to do was jerk the wheel a little bit, and I'd go flying to one side. It was quite entertaining for all of us on the 9 hour drive.

Later during the drive we were driving down a road and parents were waiting for their kids to get off the bus. My mom made the comment about how she was glad she was out of that stage of her life, planning around the school year and days. Mike made some comment about how you know when Brianna has those little f***ers you'll be right back in it. So, needless to see he called my future children little f'ers. It was pretty comical - maybe you had to be there. They then went on to talk about picking up my future children on a motorcycle and the side car. I was totally game for that.

Larry now has a new name. Mary did not realize that there was a new hurricane names Larry. She thought it was a joke - well she researched it, and low and behold it was accurate. So, some of the words that describe Larry the Hurricane: looming, lurking, large swells, can't see forward but not looking back. We decided that any type of mischief or trouble that happens we are blaming on "Hurricane Larry".

Today, Wednesday 9/8, the riders and support staff had to check in. Nothing to spectacular there - that I can think of at this moment. Then we went to the bikes unloaded them and started messing around. It was raining on and off ALL DAY. We needed to get our tech inspections done - which Mary showed you in previous posts.

We all passed, but we noticed my gas was leaking. Damn Team Butts. Anyway, one of the Rinker twins came and helped this girl out, plotting and eventually Papa Rinker changed it out with some rubber tubing, and the other made it so it wasn't hitting the cylinder causing it to be too hot and possibly burning/melting. It was a team effort from the Rinkers, they jumped right in, we almost had to force them to go eat their pizza that they ordered and that we could handle this gas later. Papa Rinker was losing sleep from thinking about my front Axle ( I think... it's been a long day ), i could point it out on the bike. Anyway - we (mostly me watching and learning) will be replacing that tomorrow. Papa Rinker has definitely taken me under his wing.

Later in the evening we took our first practice ride. They trusted me in leading ... and reading directions. SOMEHOW I only managed to miss one turn - I saw it too late and had to turn around. At that point I learned how to read this map direction thing we have to use, correctly. This directions are NOT EASY. NOT EASY AT ALL.  Oh and when I was starting my bike, Mary decided that she was going to yell and tell everyone that I was going to start it and to watch. I told her that karma was a bitch-- I do not do well when being watched. Pressure is not my friend. But I did kick the shit out of it (in a good way for any non- motorcycle friends), and took off without killing it - yay me!

Larry had asked me for some help, asking if I could see if a certain wire was loose by his front wheel. So I'm bending near there, and he lays on his horn....RIGHT AS MY EAR IS RIGHT THERE. He giggled so hard I thought he was going to pee his pants. He tried to do it again to me later - and I was so close to falling for it, being the kind soul that I am. I was just trying to be a helping hand and do what was asked - and he pulls a joke on me.

Well, we did ask Larry if this was a new way to carry tools....
