We are approaching the start of the cannonball extremely fast and way quicker than anyone was prepared for. In a week we are off to Virginia.
There has been many complications and set backs. Mostly for Larry and Mike. My bike works great. I think.
I got back on Cruella and knew I would be frustrated at the difficulty of getting the groove back with going from stop to start, as it seems to me to be an all or nothing type of thing.
Mike decided to run a different bike and as the summer passed his bike was still not together and we (okay he and Larry and Jerry) were making new parts and such- which surprisingly take a long time- very tedious.
He did get his bike running about two weeks before the start. It sounds pretty.
Larry’s bike needed some work. I couldn’t tell you what. I think at some point his carburetor was sucking too much air? But ya know I could be wrong. I tried talking to them about this post and didn’t get much back. I think they were working on motorcycles 🤣. He also got his motorcycle sounds good and running shortly after Mikes. So PHEWFTA.
We have added a support crew member this year. As you know we struggled in the 2018 Cannonball with parking a trailer and all that fun stuff. We thought we needed more room this year and so we are taking a trailer again. My friend Tony who is also close with mom and Mike has joined us. He is very proficient in backing a trailer. He is also very handy. He has transformed the trailer into more than we could want! We’ve got lighting, shelves, helmet holders, etc. Plus having him do this work really took pressure off Mike.
